Our history
From genesis to international service.
RCI’s story is one of vision, formation, commissioning, and an evolving structure created to support Christian chaplaincy service.
- Genesis
A vision within RCCG
The ministry emerged within the Redeemed Christian Church of God from a desire to prepare believers for organized Christian chaplaincy beyond conventional congregational settings.
The first commissioning
Following early internal cadet training, 67 officers were commissioned. This milestone established a visible foundation for the ministry’s continuing development.
- Formation
From initiative to organization
Administrative and operational structures developed over time to support formation, accountability, identity, and coordinated service.
- Harmonization
A shared model for service
RCI records describe a process of harmonizing the ministry’s structures and responsibilities. The Division, Brigade, Battalion, and Wing model became part of that organizational language.
- Americas
A regional expression
RCI Americas carries this Christian chaplaincy heritage within RCCG Americas, with formation and service shaped for the regional context.
- Continuing
A living institutional story
The ministry continues to mature through disciplined training, accountable leadership, compassionate service, and careful stewardship of its calling.
Historical care
Rooted in the record, careful with the present.
This public history presents confirmed milestones without treating historic structures, counts, assignments, or policies from another region as current Americas policy.
Current RCI Americas appointments, subordinate units, program activity, and operational details will be published only after institutional confirmation.
